The most important decision is with or without a skipper. With a skipper you need no licence: a professional who knows the island handles the boat and picks the best coves for that day's wind. Without a skipper (bareboat charter) you sail yourself, but you need a valid boating licence. If it is your first time in the Balearics, going with a skipper is usually the easiest and safest option.

What to know before you book

Yes, it is one of the most popular trips from Ibiza. The crossing is short and lets you spend the day in turquoise water such as Ses Illetes and return in the afternoon. To do it without rushing, book a full day rather than a half day.

When is the best time of year to sail in Ibiza?

The sailing season runs roughly from May to October. July and August have the best weather but also the highest demand and prices. May, June, September and October are an excellent alternative: pleasant temperatures, calm sea, quieter coves and better availability.

How far in advance should I book?
